"Overcharging"

They told us when we arrived in the Emergency that the maximum payment for the emergency care would be a few hundred dollars. My spouse had treatment and was let go home some 5 hours later. No overnight stay and we were charged, nearly 2.5 months later, an admission fee of an additional few hundred dollars. So in fact it cost us the emergency care fee + admission fee + all the doctors fees. Even though my spouse was not admitted. 

I am truly disgusted at that hospital for such charges. We would have gone to the public hospital had we known we would be charged twice. The only account we received from Pindara was titled Fixed Out of Pocket Gap. Talk about misleading and deceptive, in my opinion. I believe you are not in a state of mind when going into emergency to read the fine print and most of all... my spouse was not admitted!
