"Impressed by the doctor's manner"

My darling little elderly Mum was taken to Albany Hospital by ambulance recently with a perforated bowel. I believe it was quite a surprise!

She was operated on by Dr Edward. The surgery was to be conducted quite urgently, and before she went in, Dr Edward came to meet with us. I was deeply impressed by his manner. He was calm, kindly, professional, patient, and open, in my opinion, and inspired a deep confidence in my mother and myself. My mother went into surgery quite happy, knowing that he was conducting the operation. She is recovering very well, and we are hoping she can come home soon!

I only realised later that Dr Edward has a reputation which extends a long way beyond Albany Hospital. My spouse was speaking to two people who live 150km away, and they absolutely sang his praises! Everybody I spoke to in the Hospital concurred with me when I told them how wonderful he is. I feel he is obviously deeply respected by his colleagues. It is wonderful to have doctors in our regional areas of such high calibre. I believe Dr Edward is a blessing to the South West, and to Albany Hospital.

We only moved to the South West a few months ago, and I was unsure about the standard of health care we would receive, but after meeting Dr Edward, and experiencing the outstanding care offered at Albany Hospital, I am glad we made the move!
