"Surgical ward nursing staff - Albany Hospital"

My precious elderly Mum was admitted to Albany Hospital recently with a perforated bowel.

Her operation was successful, and she should be coming home soon!

I believe the nursing staff at that wonderful hospital deserve to be commended.

In particular, we are grateful to: 

- Colin (with his wonderful patience - Mum was so grateful for his endless willingness to do everything required to make her comfortable);

- Lorna (who was always kind and helpful, even at the end of what someone told me was her third consecutive shift! I felt she was so beautiful and kind I would never have guessed); 

- Zuzan (a nurse with a big heart); and 

- Ash (the dear physio with the winning smile who encouraged and supported Mum as she started walking again).

There was also Sarah, who took my anxious call late one night, and answered my long list of questions with patience, compassion and full knowledge of my mother's case.  An informed and caring lady.

Thank you, dear nursing staff. Each of you has been magnificent. There are many others I don't have space to name here - all of you on the surgical ward have been wonderful.

May God bless each one of you, as you continue to provide such wonderful care to fellow Australians like my mother, who come to you in such a vulnerable state, and are made to feel so at home.
