"Waiting list"

About: Western Wheatbelt Primary Health Service

(as a parent/guardian),

My child requires an autism assessment. They were referred by their psychologist to be seen by a paediatrician. They initially referred us to West Perth but because of where we live, were referred on to WACHS - Wheatbelt Moora Hospital.

The waitlist to be seen by a paediatrician at Moora Hospital is 12-14 months, who will determine if my child needs to have an autism assessment. If my child does need the assessment, we will then be put on another waitlist for that.

In my opinion, the wait time and process is extremely long.

Dear plutomm88,

Thank you for your post regarding access to paediatrician services in Moora.

We are able to provide four paediatrician clinics a year in Moora with the assistance of Rural Health West funding.

With this new but limited service, it has led to a waitlist which we are currently trying to address.

Mr Erik Anda, Manager Western Wheatbelt Primary Health Service, has asked if you would contact him on (08) 9652 0200, to see if there is are other services or options our Western Wheatbelt Child Development Team can assist you with.

Once again thank you for sharing your story and hope you contact Mr Anda.

Best wishes,

Regina
