About: Lives Lived Well - Logan Family Recovery

(as a service user),

I came to Logan Family Recovery with my partner who was pregnant with our 3rd child. At the start I wanted to go home, I wasn't really keen on being here.

After a few days I started to get into a good routine and having my newborn baby with me made all the difference. I enjoyed the groups around identifying my triggers and why I use and feel like I've learned a lot. I was able to purchase a car for work and have a plan around what I want to achieve moving forward.

The staff were helpful and understanding and I enjoyed living independently in my own unit with my family. I'm going to miss this place and am very grateful for the experience and being able to return home with my baby.

Hello dar-b,

Thank you for posting your story. I can see this story is about more than your own personal journey and involves your partner and family. It is a courageous step to go into a rehabilitation service as a family.

It is understandable you initially wanted to go home, and well done to you that you were able to persist and settle into the routine. It sounds as if the learnings and insights into yourself and understanding the reasons for your substance use, has given you a new outlook about the future. This applies to your work and family in particular.

Congratulations on the birth of your new baby. I wish you and your family all the best for the future as you return to your home.

Warm regards,

Gerard
