I am a healthcare worker and have worked at Eastern Health for many years. I developed cold symptoms and so doing the right thing, I contacted IPAC. They advised me to attend the Box Hill Hospital screening clinic which I did where I stood in a line of approx 50 people.
I was tested a few months ago when there were designated staff hours and felt very safe. However, during this recent test I am not only concerned for my safety but that of the vulnerable patients I look after. I understand the increased demand for testing at the moment, however, please consider restarting staff hours or at least having an express lane for COVID testing for the sake of your employee's health and well-being as well as the health of your patients.
With that said all of the staff at the clinic have been amazing, despite the difficult and stressful positions they are in!
