My parent had a piece of steak lodged in their oesophagus and could not move it, causing them to vomit profusely and be unable to eat or drink. My parent went to their GP and was advised to present to the Emergency Department (ED).
From the moment my parent arrived at Fiona Stanley ED, to the moment they were discharged, the care was exemplary. The process was smooth and each step was carefully explained. My parent's room was clean and spacious and each staff member they dealt with was professional and caring.
So to the team at ED, theatre, gastroenterology and Ward 6D thank you. Each doctor, nurse, cleaner, porter, volunteer, food service person, you made a stressful time for my parent and my family so much more tolerable. We are truly lucky to have such a fantastic faculty in our state.
