My grandfather has been cared for by the staff at Linsell Lodge for over 5 years. During this time there were good times and hard times due to his dementia and Parkinsons.
Throughout the years, staff were always kind and showed compassion and empathy. Whenever we visited we could see staff had made an effort and all his needs were being met.
Slowly, the dementia progressed and he began to eat and drink less. He was treated for a chest infection recently but due to his ongoing poor oral intake, a decision was made to provide palliative care and make him comfortable.
I am a nurse and was so incredibly grateful for the palliative care provided to my grandfather in his last days. Staff were outstanding. From the palliative care plan, pain relief, mouth care and pressure area care and support to our family, we could not have asked for more.
Thank you all for the years of care but especially for the last days where my grandfather was treated with kindness and dignity by people who cared.
