"Child at Roebourne Hospital"

About: Roebourne Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

My child was unwell so we decided to take them to Roebourne Hospital. From the moment we arrived the 3 nurses on duty were professional, kind and compassionate. We were initially seen by Nurse Megan who was overseen by the Nurse manager called Belinda. We had to wait a fair while to see the doctor as there was also an emergency there at the hospital. However, we were kept up to date and informed about what was happening. I was surprised and impressed to learn that the doctor had called the paediatrician prior to seeing us for advice.

My child was required to have an examination of their genital area which made me scared and nervous. Belinda came in with the doctor, she was supportive and respectful - I was really glad of her assistance. Both Belinda and Megan were calm and patient with my child despite the difficult circumstances and behaviours. Thank you Roebourne Hospital and thank you to Belinda and Megan.

Dear empathytx55,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at Roebourne Hospital, it must have been a very distressing time for you all and I hope your child is recovering well.

To hear that the team was professional, kind and compassionate is fantastic to hear as this embodies our values here within WACHS. I will pass on your feedback and gratitude to the team, particularly to Megan and Belinda.

Kind regards,

Liam Avery A/Operations Manager West Pilbara
