"Breast Service & Ward 6A"

About: Fiona Stanley Hospital / Breast Service & Ward 6A

(as a service user),

Early this year, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had two lumpectomies after my diagnosis, before finally having a mastectomy and reconstruction.

My experiences with everyone at FSH were outstanding and I could not fault anyone who I had contact right from the Patient Care Assistant's to the Consultants and everyone in between both as an inpatient and an outpatient. I felt informed and safe through the whole journey.

My journey was made so much better by the kind and caring staff. In particular, nurse Natasha on ward 6A and the McGrath Foundation Breast Care nurses.

Dear melontx49,

I am so sorry to hear of your diagnosis with breast cancer. What an especially difficult year this must have been for you.

I was, however, delighted that you have felt informed and safe as you have navigated our hospital. I believe that all of our staff are very special people with a unique level of care and compassion, so to have this reinforced via your Care Opinion piece is really lovely.

I wish you all the best going forward and thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Your feedback in relation to Natasha and the McGrath Foundation Breast Cancer nurses has been passed on to them.

Kind regards,

Neil Doverty.
