(as a relative),

In my opinion, most of the staff are great except the odd one or two that, in my opinion, feel they know what is best for my spouse without checking with me first. 

I am my partner's legal guardian as well as their spouse and would really appreciate been informed on all things involving my spouse, from top to bottom, about their medication and health care. 

The only time I have a problem is when they don't ask me first.

* Example 1: Putting things on their script like Cortic DS 1%.
* Example 2: Cutting their hair.

Apart from these things, everything else is good.

Thank you sharing your story with us. On behalf of Bruce Rock Memorial Health Service, I want to extend my sincerest apologies for your negative experience you and your partner experienced recently.

Our staff are committed to ensuring the needs of our patients and residents are at the center of everything we do and it was disappointing to learn the actions of one of our staff members have left you and your partner feeling upset and concerned.

The treatment your partner received is not at all consistent with our expectations of our staff, which is, to always be respectful, communicate in friendly manner, and show compassion to our patients throughout their stay in hospital and nursing home.

Your feedback will be discussed with the staff along the WA Country Health Service Values of Community, Compassion, Quality, Integrity, Equity and Curiosity and the importance of ensuring patients and their families are kept informed of any changes in care prior to any nursing or medical interventions.

Whilst I cannot change the experience you and your partner had, I hope what we learn and change from your story and the concern you raised is not repeated.
