"Recent ED visit"

About: Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I was advised to have a COVID test. I presented at the Emergency Department at Kalgoorlie Health Campus, was greeted by the concierge at arrival and given a mask as I had cold/flu symptoms. They stated if you reported cold/flu symptoms, as I did twice, you would be given a mask. I wasn't offered one. 

My details were updated and I was directed to the COVID waiting room. I did go to the bathroom and the soap dispenser was either empty or not working which I reported. After a short wait, I was ushered through by the doctor. I unwittingly touched the door handle and they immediately instructed a staff member to clean the door handles. They were efficient, informative and performed the test (as unpleasant as it is) without fuss. (I made all the fuss!)The doctor was very clear in their instructions that I had to isolate and when I could get my results and I was given an information pamphlet. They were very understanding and I was not made to feel like a pariah! I was very impressed with the service that I got. Well done Kalgoorlie Health Campus!

Thank you for your kind words about your experience in the Emergency Department. Your observations provide the best reassurance possible, and that is that our patients see that we are doing everything right. Thank you again.

With respect to the issuing of masks and the empty soap dispenser in the toilet, these concerns have been immediately rectified.

One again, thank you for your feedback, I will pass it on to the Emergency Department and I know they will be thrilled to hear it.
