"Annoyed and uncomfortable"

About: Wonthaggi Hospital / I-MED Radiology

(as the patient),

I felt both annoyed and uncomfortable. I was told to arrive 15 minutes early for a radiology appointment to allow for COVID Assessment. I had to wait for staff to arrive as it seems they did not allow for their own COVID assessment.

I felt it was very bad customer service to be greeted by staff in their puffer jackets. In my opinion, if they are due to start at a certain time, I would expect them to be in their scrubs and ready for patient arrival.

I felt very uncomfortable to have a CT scan with my jeans at my knees and no covering provided. I presume the hospital is trying to save on linen costs but surely a gown could be given? I was offered a blanket to cover myself but I feel it did not materialise. Was told the procedure was quite quick.

Dear whisperfz33,

I am sorry that you had this experience. I understand from your feedback that you might not be aware that the Radiology Service provided from Wonthaggi Hospital is contracted out to an external radiology provider and not run by Bass Coast Health.

I have passed on your feedback to the contracted Radiology provider as I am sure they will also be very sorry to hear about your experience. They take great pride in their service and I am pretty sure they will want to talk to you directly to look at the time and date of visit and speak to the staff involved.

There is no shortage of linen and I know they take efforts to maintain privacy and dignity so this will be disappointing. I wonder if you would be happy to send me an email to jan.child@basscoasthealth.org.au with the details of the visit and I will be sure to pass it on. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.
