"Overall maternity experience at Busselton Health Campus"

About: Busselton Health Campus

(as a service user),

We gave birth to a beautiful baby boy with the help of the wonderful Busselton maternity staff.

Wow, it was magical. There were funny moments of my partner saying during the middle of contractions that she thought that people wearing scarves and sandals were wrong and being very direct with the very kind midwives. Man, the midwives Ali, Clare, Jilly and Lisa, during the birth were amazing, comforting my wife and allowing me to be a great support person. They also guided our birth wonderfully.

In the end, after the transition, my wife became euphoric and was smiling as she was pushing our bub out. Dr Peter came in towards the end and along with the midwives, helped us push bub out. My wife did this naturally and our bub came out happy and calm with his eyes open and looking around. I was blown away.

Then it got a little scary as my wife lost a lot of blood from the placenta detachment and uterus not clamping down. Dr Pete handled this amazingly and saved my wife's life.

5 days later, I'm writing this and all is well. The aftercare and education have been amazing from midwives such as Katie, Milena, and Michell. All the midwives are very attentive, knowledgeable, and have taken such good care of us and bub and set us up so well to go home safely and confidently.

Thank you all so so much!

The facilities here are also amazing, comfortable, clean, quiet and functional. Thanks to all the cleaning and catering staff also.

Dear frostrh48,

Congratulations on the birth of your new baby.

Thank you so very much in taking the time to provide the staff at the maternity ward with your lovely words. I have passed on your kind words to the entire team.

Our team believe that we truly have the most privileged job in the world! Supporting families through the magic of birth, the early stages of parenthood and also being there to assist when things don’t always go to plan is something that we pride ourselves on. It is so nice to hear that we are achieving this. We thank you for choosing Busselton Hospital Maternity to be a part of this very special time and we consider ourselves lucky to have been able to share your journey with you.

We wish you and your family many more wonderful memories in the future.

Kind Regards,

Marnie Bilsby
