"Hospital ED"

About: Broome Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

Awful in my opinion! Child brought in by ambulance. It took 2. 5 hours to put an IV in and 2 hrs until seen by dr. No pain relief offered for 3 hr after asking for it. Child vomiting...nothing given.

Dear authenticfk76,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us.

I am very concerned to read about your experience at Broome Emergency Department (ED) and would like to sincerely apologise for the issues you have raised with us.

We understand that coming to hospital can be a distressing time, particularly for children, and we are genuinely sorry if we have caused any additional stress at what was an already stressful time for you and your child.

I would like to know more about the details of what happened, including the lengthy wait time to be seen by a clinician and the lack of pain relief, so that we can address these issues and learn from your experience.

If you are happy to, I would really appreciate it if you could contact me at a time that is convenient for you. My mobile number is 0417 987 724 and my email is: marie.tweedie@health.wa.gov.au

I hope to hear from you soon.

Kind regards

Marie Tweedie
