"Hospital care"

About: Maroondah Hospital / Surgery

(as the patient),

Went there for gastric varices. Went to the toilet and there is a staff member sitting on the toilet floor with syringe, made a report, felt I was treated like a trouble-maker. Then an adverse reaction to medication, drop in temp, burning sensation throughout, numbness. Concerns all around but no explanation given, no notes taken. Then put on ECG machine, faulty. When I said I was discharging myself, I believe I had sanity questioned because I was concerned for my health and would be seeking a second opinion and another hospital.

Dear corridorwd99,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share these comments regarding your experience when attending Eastern Health’s Maroondah Hospital. I’m sorry that it was not a positive experience.

You’ve raised a number of matters in your post that I am very concerned about. As such, and in order for us to follow up on your particular circumstances, I would like to invite you to contact one of our Patient Relations Advisors in the Eastern Health Centre for Patient Experience either by calling 1800 EASTERN or by emailing feedback@easternhealth.org.au. If you choose to call please be aware that it is possible that the Patient Relations Advisors may be on another call at the time you ring and if so you will be invited to leave a message so they can return your call.

I hope we hear from you soon and that you were able to access the opinion and care you wanted.

Kind regards

David
