"Results"

About: PathWest Perth Collection Centre

(as the patient),

My specialist authorises me to get a copy of my blood test results. Previously I was able to obtain a copy of the results from my local collection centre but someone has made a decision to change the system so that I have to wait for them to be posted from Perth!

Obviously, in my opinion, the decision was made by someone without a chronic illness or any understanding of why patients need results ASAP. I believe that's nothing unusual these days ... I am still waiting for them to arrive 10 days after they were supposedly posted!  I feel this is pathetic customer service!

Dear delphinusjk77,

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We have recently changed our laboratory software that is used for resulting and reporting of tests. As part of this change, we took the decision to centralise reporting of printed results to a single, central mailroom. I apologise that you have been adversely affected by this, however, I wish to reassure you that you are still able to receive a copy of your results from your local collection centre. To do this please ring our 13 Path results line and once you identify yourself you may request a copy of your results be faxed to your nominated centre. You may then collect this fax from the centre, upon presentation of suitable identification.

I will also ensure all of our collection centres are aware of this process, to ensure this situation does not reoccur.

Kind regards,

Tracy
