Earlier this year, I severed the top of two fingers of my left hand in a hedger accident. After initial treatment at another hospital I was sent by ambulance to Sydney Hand Hospital for emergency reattaching.
Dr Sarah performed the surgery. Her professionalism and empathy were second to none and the success of the surgery was testament to her skill and the follow up treatment she prescribed.
The nursing skill during my time recovering in the hospital was wonderful and supported my positive recovery. A special shout out to Edward 'Eddie', who was particularly supportive and encouraging during my recovery. Also, to Mahid 'May', for ensuring my physical comfort and to Kaye, for her ongoing supervision, expertise and support during my outpatient visits. The administrator of East 1 ward should be very proud.
I am especially grateful too, for the hand therapy that I received over the outpatient visits during the next 5 months. Melanie 'Mel', thank you for your ongoing positive feedback, encouragement and guidance that ensured a great recovery for my fingers. It was and is something I am very grateful for.
What was a quite challenging and difficult accident was made easier due to the specialist training, expertise and support I received from those mentioned above.
I have experienced a range of hospitals over the years due to a number of seriously ill family members and the Sydney Hand Hospital stands out as by far the best experienced.
Thank you to all involved. I will forever be grateful for your expertise and care.
