I was admitted into the rehab ward after having a bilateral total knee replacement and I would like to say my room was lovely with a soft bed with a warm-looking, inviting bedcovers and a large window with garden view. I could go on.
Let’s say it was like having a hotel room. The only thing that gave it away as being Hospital were the call bells 'n buttons and floor not having carpet lol :-) but it was the staff. The nurses were professional and kind and friendly, so were the ladies 'n gents who brought around my teas' n coffees :-) always a smile and kind word. And the kitchen staff get a big gold star from me as I’m a picky eater lol - ask my mum 'n spouse :-) but the food was lovely always. When I did have a time when I didn’t like the sound of what was on the menu, they were happy to give me what I wanted instead.
So I spent 10 lovely days learning to get my legs working and had a lovely time at it and was made to feel like I was important and the work I was doing to keep up my rehab between sessions was always praised.
Hats off to all the staff from the lovely desk lady to every single person at Northam Hospital :-) I have to say my rehab was also like a holiday.
