We were very fortunate to be placed in a midwifery group practice (MGP) at King Edwards Hospital. The continued care model meant that our midwife (Maddi) knew us right from the very beginning and was able to provide us with personalised and continued care before, during and after the birth of our baby.
This allowed us to develop a relationship with our midwife and for her to comprehensively understand the intricacies of our situation. We felt well cared for and supported during our journey. The continuity of care ensured that nothing fell through the cracks and our midwife was able to guide us through all aspects of the journey.
The additional resources and training provided through MGP have helped us feel confident as new parents. We are genuinely grateful for this continued model of care and see huge benefits when juxtaposed against other, more fragmented models of care.
"We are genuinely grateful"
