Since kinda, my child has struggled with school. Attention, processing and at the start, speech. Now in early primary school and after seeing speech therapists, OTs, school psych, child psych, hearing tests, sight tests, reports and many hours of changing diets, using different products for calming, we are now on an 18mth waitlist to see the paediatrician. At my child's age, I feel this is just too long. Most of my child's primary school will be over before we get an answer and begin to make their life easier. I've had so many great people but I've also had one or two so-called professionals who I feel really make the journey horrible.

I acknowledge there is a delay in accessing the paediatrician outpatient service at the Geraldton Hospital and we are currently working to improve the wait time through engaging further Paediatrician time and establishing extra clinics. This service has seen a significant increase in referrals in the last couple of years and WA Country Health Service Midwest has been working on strategies to assist in managing the demand.

Whilst I was pleased to read you have interacted with many great health professionals I was concerned to read that you had a less positive experience with some professionals.
