"Treatment in Emergency"

I presented to the ED at Fiona Stanley in the early afternoon with a letter from my GP asking for further investigation of abdominal pain and a letter from another hospital also.

My blood pressure was quite high during my visit at the GP, my urine test showed blood in my urine and the buprenorphine I had taken a couple of hours earlier had taken the edge off but still had pain and discomfort. On arriving at Fiona Stanley, it appears that my BP had dropped.

After 8hrs of waiting to see a Dr, I was examined by a particular doctor who was lovely and took the time to check my abdomen and understand my pain. They got me to do a urine sample but they never tested it as another doctor advised my blood tests were fine and this was not an emergency and urine didn't need checking.

When my blood pressure was checked in the actual emergency room where I was examined, it was 152/84 and my spouse even saw it but it seems they forgot to mention that.

The doctor explained they had reviewed my CT scans from the other hospital but I believe didn't want or need to see their notes. The only reason I didn't go back to the other hospital was due to their specialist, which has been documented previously and my GP's advice.

This doctor tried to get me to take Buscopan & Naproxen but I believe they obviously never read my medical chart or checked my armband (the red one) as I am allergic to anti-inflammatories, including Naproxen! I tried to explain to them that the other hospital had tried Buscopan and reflux medication which did nothing but in my opinion, it seemed they weren't interested.

In my opinion, what kind of ED consultant recommends a medication you are allergic to?

Told me despite the pain I was in, they couldn't help me and to seek medical attention if it got worse. Hopefully one day they don't give someone the wrong medication and it turns fatal. What a disgrace in my opinion.
