Being the first in Albany to have delivered a surrogate baby, I was a little concerned. My sibling, who I was a surrogate for, and I had a few prenatal appointments and I honestly can't talk any higher of all the beautiful staff in the maternity ward.
They made sure everyone was across what was going on (being it was a very different situation). Myself, my sibling, and their spouse, my spouse and my children were all very welcomed and involved in the whole process and all so well cared for.
After birthing my nephew, I had the most beautiful midwives give me all the medical and mental help and support I needed to get me through the hard times.
When I was discharged, I was referred to the hospital counsellor who helped me process the emotions I was going through and I truly appreciate their soft, caring touch.
From the minute we walked through the reception doors, with a lovely smile from Betty at the counter; to the lovely ladies who walked us up to maternity; all of the drs and midwives who went above and beyond; the gorgeous tea ladies who made sure we were always looked after and our room was perfect, to the minute we left with amazing counselling services and post checks for my nephew and myself.
It couldn't have gone any better and we are all so truly thankful to you all.
