I was transferred by ambulance to Bunbury Hospital ED from Margaret River Hospital for review and treatment for an infection in my ankle, possible osteomyelitis.
I arrived late at night, mid-week, and luckily the ED was quiet. I was quickly received, made comfortable and then seen quickly by the ED doctor. All staff were caring and compassionate and treated me with respect and very professionally. I was moved shortly after to the Short Stay ward in the ED department where the staff were again, exceptional.
After a fairly sleepless night, I was seen very early by the orthopaedic staff and advised on their preliminary plan for my treatment and tests they needed to do. I spent the rest of the morning in the Short Stay area and the staff helped me to settle in, get showered and comfortable.
I was very impressed with the service offered by the ED. Modern facilities, exceptional staff and I was kept informed at all times.
