"Improvements for Triage"

About: Marble Bar Nursing Post

(as a service user),

The new Nursing Post is lovely. However, the Triage is not in a private area and sits in a thoroughfare where I feel everyone can hear what is going on. I believe this should be in a private area where a patient can feel comfortable to talk about any health issues.

On entering the clinic, I feel I am a nuisance and interrupting something far more important, with a comment asking what they could help me with now from the nurse.

Dear Not welcome,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding the Triage area at Marble Bar clinic. I absolutely agree with you that this area should be private in order for you to feel comfortable and safe to discuss any medical issues that you have. Please be assured that the clinic is available for the Marble Bar community to service your health needs.

I am sorry that you feel that you were interrupting staff or being a nuisance, that is certainly not the vision or values of WA Country Health Service and their employees. We consider consumers to be our highest priority.

I will work with the clinic nurses and the Coordinator of Nursing and Midwifery in order to identify a more appropriate area within the clinic to use to triage patients and discuss customer service requirements with the nursing staff.

In the meantime can I ask you to contact Simone McKinlay who is the Coordinator of Nursing and Midwifery to discuss your concerns further. Her contact details are Simone.McKinlay@health.wa.gov.au, telephone 9174 1042.

Kind Regards

Louise Steedman
