"My child's emergency short stay experience"

About: Sutherland Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

Recently one night, I presented to the Sutherland Hospital's emergency department. My child was very ill with persistent nausea and was very distressed, weak and uncomfortable. From the moment we entered this hospital we had a really pleasant experience. Friendly faces, and kind, gentle staff at triage attended to us quickly. In the paediatric ED dept my child was made to feel at ease, secure and was offered such a thorough assessment and treatment. I am so impressed at the high level of care and attention provided, that I had to share this.

RN Helen, Dr Tom in ED and paediatric Dr Meropi were among the staff that looked after my child. They really did a stand out job. I am so grateful.

Having to bring your child to the Emergency Department must have been very stressful for both you and your child.

I was very pleased to read that despite this, you had a really pleasant experience. The high level of care and attention provided to your child makes me particularly proud of our employees and their commitment to providing excellent care to all our patients.
