"Positive experience"

I was treated for Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) from mid-2020 and had some extended stays in Ward 5G at Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) South Australia.

I was treated respectfully and well cared for by all the nursing staff in Ward 5G, which was overseen by the nursing unit manager, Avis. All these staffs, including the PSAs, Cherie and Gabe, are a real credit to FMC.

The haematology doctors all treated me respectfully and I wish to pass on my compliments to them for the treatment that was afforded to me during my stays under the guidance of their senior staff.

I was also followed up in the Flinders Infusion Suite (FIS) by Jodie and Janet and I cannot speak highly enough of the treatment that was given to me whilst I was being cared for. Both Jodie and Janet treated me with respect and dignity, they are a real credit to your organisation. All the staff in FIS were fantastic including Nicole, Lisa and other staff who went above and beyond to care for me.

I am hopeful now to be in remission from AML and feel truly blessed to have been cared for by such wonderful people. Thank you all very much for the care, compassion, dignity and understanding you all showed me, I really appreciate everything you did for me.
