Every month I have an injection at St George Ambulatory Care Unit. The nurses are the most caring, kind and helpful people. They will remember your name and endeavour to help as much as they can.
But in my opinion, they are overworked! When a staff member is off sick, the staff member seems to not be replaced leaving what I believe is a huge wait for patients and stressful workload for the nurses.
I feel these nurses already are under the pump to see patients with complex care including blood transfusions, immunotherapy and venesections. How can safe care be provided with what I believe is poor nurse to patient ratios?
