"Long waiting hours in the ED"

About: Dandenong Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I had an accidental cut on my arm and it was bleeding a lot. I went to Dandenong hospital as it’s the nearest hospital from my place.

Unfortunately, I had to wait for the doctor 7.5 hours even there wasn’t any patient in the waiting area. The longest waiting hours I ever seen in my life and I told them that I am pregnant.

The nurse answered me if you can't wait, you can go home against medical advice.

Also, I got told to fast on the day of presentation because I might need stitches. I fasted 24 hours and nothing happened, sent me home without stitches.

Again told me to fast after 2 days and come to hospital at a certain time in the morning and then again waiting starts and I had my stitches done 6 hours later.

In my opinion, they need to improve their management and they also need to listen to the patients, esp who are sitting at triage including nurses and ward clerk. I believe anyone can escalate the care call.
