My relative was treated at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital for his cancer and renal failure. My relative did his own peritoneal dialysis at home and was only admitted to hospital for care if unwell.
My family would like to thank the staff at SCGH, especially the Emergency staff, G63 and the Dialysis/Renal unit, for their care and professionalism, when they are very busy and constantly under pressure. The Ward Nurses, Emergency Nurses, Dialysis Nurses, Doctors in ED and wards, Specialist Consultants, in particular, Neil, Physiotherapists, Dieticians, PCA's, Kitchen staff, ward clerks. Every single staff member has been absolutely fantastic, as helpful as they could be and we feel so incredibly lucky to have a health service that is staffed with such dedicated people.
G63 Nurses and Medical staff, thank you for looking after our relative at a critical time when we could not be present. This may have been distressing for you, however, my relative didn't want to worry his family and have us up in the middle of the night feeling helpless. You enabled our relative to have a calm, comfortable, peaceful death, which is what they wanted and we are so incredibly grateful that he was admitted that day and not discharged home to return with pulmonary oedema in an ambulance at 3 am in the morning.
Thank you for everything, we wish we could name you all but you remain anonymous to our family, however, we know that you are there and are still continuing your compassionate and professional work 24/7. No words can describe the appreciation we have for the work that you do and the services that SCGH provide.
Sincerely.
