"Elective surgery"

About: Royal Perth Hospital / Elective & Emergency Orthopaedic Surgery & Bone Tissue Bank

(as the patient),

At first I was placed in the Orthopaedic surgery list a few months ago in category 2, which I believe is operation within 90 days. After 4 and half months calling every day I got the date in December 2020. I was very relieved that at least I got the date.

I was fasting since early morning for surgery day. After spending a whole day in hospital without eating and drinking, staff said your surgery has been cancelled and unsure when we reschedule probably after Christmas.

I planned everything for the surgery but went in vain. I was very upset that if you don’t have enough places why you send surgery date to someone. At the end, I had to pay for taxi coming to the hospital and going back to home.
