"Hypnobirthing Course through WACHS"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Maternity Narrogin Health Service Telehealth Service - WACHS Wheatbelt

(as a service user),

Hi, I was initially hesitant when I booked into my WACHS Antenatal class that was offered via Telehealth because I figured Hypnobirthing would be far too hippy-dippy for me, especially as I'm a very practical person and a nurse! But I'm pleasantly surprised.

The sessions were very well delivered by Mikayla, Telehealth was good to use and I'm a complete convert now, practising the soundtracks every night in preparation!

It's so good that WACHS allows the user code for the discount, making the resources free. There's no way I would have paid for it prior to the course! But they have been so handy and my midwives at Narrogin Hospital are all Hypnobirthing aware which makes it so great.

Dear SodahPop4,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback to Care Opinion, especially given how busy it is this time of year.

I am pleased that you took the chance on the antenatal classes. They do have Hippie sort of ring to the title, but as you discovered they are far from it. As a member of the sister profession of nursing, you would understand the importance of evidenced based information, which this program embraces.

We have worked hard to encourage and support the midwives to all get on board with the program and therefore provide comprehensive support throughout labour and birth. And I know the team at Narrogin are going to be wonderful in supporting you with your journey.

I will pass on your kind words to Mikayla, and I wish you all the best for Chrissy, New year and your birth.

Katrina Jones

Clinical Midwifery Manager.

Dear SodahPop4,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us this valuable feedback on hypnobirthing and it was great to read that you are having a positive experience with this new initiative.

I will be sure to pass your appreciation on to our midwives at Narrogin and I know they are excited in being able to support and encourage expectant parents with this.

All the very best for your upcoming birth.

Kind Regards

Russell Cockburn
