"My time in hospital"

About: Kalgoorlie Health Campus

(as the patient),

I was recently in hospital due a fractured wrist awaiting surgery. I was there for 2 days and 2 nights. Whilst awaiting surgery and the limited viewing on free to air television and it not always working led me to go Netflix on my phone because I believe the hospital has no free wifi, my service provider has advised excess usage of approximately $200. I feel it would have been nice to have access to free wifi or alternative entertainment during my stay.

Dear Wired,

I am sorry to hear that you have fractured your wrist and required surgery.

I apologise for the inconvenience you experienced in relation to our televisions not working consistently during your hospital stay. I will investigate the cause of this to ensure this issue isn’t something that is a regular occurrence.

Thank you for your suggestion regarding the hospital providing free Wi-Fi for patients. I have looked into this and have been advised that this is currently being investigated for implementation across our hospitals. If you would like to discuss your experience further, please feel free to contact David Bowdidge who is the Operations Manager at Kalgoorlie Hospital. David’s number is 9080 5817.

Thank you for bringing your concerns and ideas to our attention. I hope you are well on the road to recovery.
