"My experience in St George Private Hospital"

About: St. George Private Hospital

(as the patient),

I was admitted to the hospital for day surgery involving Cystoscopy and Laser Litholapaxy.

Post-surgery, the inability to empty the bladder required the insertion of a catheter turning the expected one day visit into a four-day stay.

My overall impression was that the hospital felt relatively new, was well organised, clean and the staff knew their responsibilities.  More specifically and more importantly, in the medical ward on the fourth floor, all the nursing staff appeared to be familiar with their co-workers and it was my observation that the general level of competency was at a very high level.

Because of this, one feels uncomfortable singling out a particular person for mention but it is for the reason that only one person was involved in performing a particular function, viz removal of a catheter.  Suffice to say that after this was completed, my comment to the nurse involved, whose name was Tess, was that I was grateful that she happened to be the person who performed the task.
