About: Bunbury Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

I went into Bunbury Regional Hospital ED recently for mental health issues. I was given a bed, waited over an hour for a doctor, then was told to go home as they were too busy. No one asked me if I was safe or suicidal. I believe this is a very serious problem.

I am very concerned and sorry to hear about your recent experience at the Bunbury Hospital Emergency Department.

I really hope you are feeling better and have received some support. However, if you need immediate mental health support, please reach out to the Bunbury Community Mental Health Clinic on 9722 1300 or if you are calling after 4.00 pm, please contact Rural Link Free call on 1800 552 002.

If you feel suicidal at any time and are having issues and difficulties and in coping, can I encourage you to call an ambulance by calling 000? We have a Psychiatric Liaison Nurse on duty in the Bunbury Emergency Department today that will be here for you.

If you are feeling safe, able and happy to do so, I would really appreciate being able to speak with you and learn more about what happened and how we can best provide you with the help and support you need. So I can investigate what occurred, please call me at 0438 062 341. Alternatively, you may prefer to contact our Customer Liaison Officer on 9722 1521.
