"Pregnancy and child birth"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

Having the support of MGP4 throughout my pregnancy and postpartum was a huge part of my recovery and journey into motherhood. I think that having consistent midwives and the buddy system so you know you'll have a friendly face during birth really makes a difference.

During the pregnancy, each set of tests or monitoring was explained prior to being done. Explanation of why and what was needed to be done was said in detail.

During birth the midwives were the best support. I can't imagine giving birth in better hands. I felt fully in control of the situation regardless of what popped up. Again, the explanation of monitoring or options were always said and I was not rushed into making decisions immediately.

Dear Kookaburra,

Congratulations to you and your family on the birth of your child. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Women and Newborn Health Service (WNHS). I am pleased to read that you received such a high standard of care, treatment and support from the staff who guided you through your pregnancy and birthing journey.

We are incredibly proud of our Midwifery Group Practice Team 4 (MGP4) team and the way they work with our patients to achieve positive outcomes during the pregnancy and birthing journey. WNHS would certainly like to expand the MGP service for our families in the future as our numbers grow so that more women in the community can access care from the same small group of midwives for the duration of their pregnancy, labour and birth and in the postnatal period.

Thank you once again for providing your feedback. I will be sure to send your appreciative comments to all the staff involved.

I wish you and your family all the best for the future.

Kind regards

Dr Matthew Skinner

Acting Executive Director
