"My Child's Broken Foot"

About: Wonthaggi Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

I took my adolescent child to the Emergency Department of Wonthaggi Hospital.

They were suffering from a sore ankle following a fall into an "underwater pothole" at Nippers at Venus Bay.

They hobbled in on crutches - courtesy of grandpa - with a strapped ankle - courtesy of mum, with assistance from their Uncle - and hobbled out with plaster wrapped around their broken foot.

Every person who assisted us was a delight:

- the Covid screening gentleman on the front door;

- the Covid logging woman seated inside the front door (she too had a child with the same name);

- the triage nurse;

- the receptionist;

- the radiographer (Helen?); and

- the doctor (Bayleigh).

Dear runningdz68,

Thanks so much for taking the time to post your lovely feedback. I know our staff will appreciate your kind words and I know the people you talked about all work really hard to make peoples experience easy and comfortable, particularly in these tricky COVID times.

I hope your child's ankle is healing well.

Kind Regards,

Jan
