"MGP5 care and support"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I was lucky enough to go through the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP5) at KEMH for my first pregnancy, and could not fault the experience. It was fantastic having the same midwife as a base through the pregnancy, who made us feel really comfortable and prepared for the birth.

Whilst my midwife was on leave when I went into labour (at 38 weeks), all of the midwives we dealt with during the labour and birth were amazing - so supportive, patient and helpful. It truly was such a positive experience and our first baby was delivered safely with no complications.

We also received excellent postnatal care from the MGP5 ladies, who were so accomodating over the Christmas period and really helped us through some early challenges such as feeding. We were sad to have our last visit!

My partner and I would strongly recommend to any of our friends and family to go through the midwifery group practice if they have the opportunity, as we had such an amazing experience with the team.

Dear One happy mumma,

Congratulations on the birth of your first child and thank you for your comments on the Care Opinion site.

I am pleased to hear your experience was a positive one and that you felt well supported by our Midwifery Group Practice Team 5 (MGP5) team and informed about your care, particularly during your first pregnancy and birthing journey.

We are incredibly proud of our MGP5 team and the way they work with our patients to achieve positive outcomes during the pregnancy and birthing journey. Women and Newborn Health Service (WNHS) would certainly like to expand the MGP service for our families in the future as our numbers grow so that more women in the community can access care from the same small group of midwives for the duration of their pregnancy, labour and birth and in the postnatal period. I am so glad to hear that the great standard of care and support continued during your aftercare.

Thank you once again for providing your feedback. I will be sure to send your appreciative comments to all the staff involved.

I wish you and your family all the best for the future.

Kind regards

Jodi Graham
