I’d like to provide feedback on my experience giving birth at Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick as I believe the level of staffing at the hospital can be impacting various mums and babies more seriously than the hospital may understand.
I have friends who were attended by the midwifery group and had a very different experience, yet it seems to me that this group has a dedicated number of staff and processes that do not match the service provided in other options (I was under GP shared care).
I had a traumatic birth experience including challenges booking required appointments, a reduced choice on birth treatment, not accessing anaesthesia and other medical support during birth, being provided incomplete and incorrect records, being removed from post-birth midwife visit service without communication, and other issues, most of which explained by insufficient staffing, in my opinion, meaning that doctors and staff were unavailable to provide adequate care or handling information poorly due to rush.
"Traumatic birth"
