After a traumatic head injury several years ago in a road traffic accident, I have required assistance with persistent balance issues. I was referred to a wonderful neurologist who decided the best person to help me was an OT.
The OT at Randwick hospital was an amazing help in my recovery. I cannot begin to describe how he has given me back my mobility and helped with my recovery. Always patient understanding and willing to fit me in at the shortest of notice. I will always be grateful for this assistance at a time when there seemed no other help available to me.
More recent occurrences have put me in touch with new services offering help with balance but more locally to me. I understand that there is much need for this type of help in the community as it becomes increasingly recognised how common BPPV and other balance issues are and how completely devastating they can be.
