"Hospital mistreatment"

About: Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital

(as the patient),

I presented to Hornsby Hospital emergency department at approximately mid-afternoon on a weekend with a small cut to my finger.

After being made to wait around an hour and a half in what I believe to be a nearly deserted emergency area waiting room we, (myself and my poor child), were fast-tracked to building 57. It was here that I was brutally and maliciously treated. I believe this was because I complained about the time it was taking to get my finger looked at. It was around 2 hours later when the doctors finally saw me.

I have the name of the treating doctor.

A resident orthopaedic doctor first looked at my finger. They said they needed to give me an anaesthetic. They took the needle and, I felt, jammed it hard into my hand so it must have hit bone and bent the needle. My fingers were still numb during the morning after and will be for some time I imagine. I do not know the name of this Orthopaedic doctor but I feel they are the main reason for my complaint.

I went to that hospital seeking care and in my opinion, was treated with nothing but brutality. A deep cut to my finger has now turned into a nightmare where my hand is bruised, swollen and battered and I have no use of my fingers on the left hand.

I have photos showing the puncture mark and bruising on my hand.

When I told the treating Dr what the orthopaedic doctor had done, they just laughed.

Also, the attending nurse gave me a tetanus shot in the arm without cleaning the surrounding area. Is this the treatment we get in our hospitals?
