"Over 2.5 hours waiting time at outpatients (twice!)"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital / 1 East (Ophthalmology)

(as the patient),

Sydney Eye Outpatients was a bad experience. I was not informed of the waiting times to see a doctor, on both occasions they were in excess of 2. 5 hours. I believe there were only 1 or 2 doctors on. I would avoid going back in the future if at all possible.

Had I known about the waiting times, I would have chosen to go elsewhere. It seems the emergency department (reception) failed to inform me. In my opinion, this kind of waiting time for a regular appointment is appalling and more akin to an emergency waiting room.

Dear Patient sydney,

I am sorry to hear you were disappointed by the Sydney Eye Hospital Outpatient process and waiting times. I can assure you that your feedback will be passed on to the manager of the Outpatients Department to discuss further with the staff members to improve communication around the waiting times.

Thank you for your feedback, as it does allow us to reflect on how we can improve our systems and service.

Kind regards,

Alan

Director of Nursing Services
