"Magnificent care"

About: Denmark Health Service / Acute Denmark Health Service / Residential (NHTP) Denmark Health Service / Support Services

(as a relative),

My Father passed away recently in one of the Multi-purpose sites in our region. A multipurpose site is a smaller hospital with a co-located Residential Aged Care. During his year in residential care at Denmark, he was provided with all we could have asked. He went into care just before the COVID 19 restrictions took effect. Throughout the ensuing lock-down, the staff took great care to communicate with us and were incredible in doing all they could to alleviate the distress which inevitably transpired for my Dad and the family. They ensured that Dad and I believe all the residents were safe and provided with activities to compensate.

Sadly, Dad passed away just last week, but he had been able to visit us and go out as the restrictions eased.

On behalf of the family and in particular my mother, we want to thank everyone and sing their praises. Not only did they care for Dad in his final months, but the care for all of us in his final days was superb. Nurses, Carers, Medical staff (GPs), Support and Admin -  You are Magnificent! Thank you so much!

Dear caringfq74

Thank you so much for your lovely words shared on Care Opinion and please accept our condolences on the passing of your Father.

We have shared your story with the team here at the Denmark Hospital and Health Service.

The Covid-19 Pandemic presents challenges to all communities and people in aged care are particularly vulnerable. In Blue Wren Lodge we strive constantly to ensure our Residents’ physical and mental wellbeing, maintaining dignity and quality of life whilst ensuring a safe environment. We really appreciate feedback from our community as it helps us to either celebrate our successes or identify opportunities for improvement.

Please pass on our best wishes to your Mother and family.

Yours sincerely

Julie Hollingworth
