Recently, I experienced lightning flashes in my left eye, along with lines through my vision. Visiting my optician at Specsavers, I was urgently referred to the eye clinic at RPH with suspected tears in my retina, and a friend drove me straight in, with a referral letter from the optician.
From my arrival, I was promptly directed to the eye clinic and was seen by the doctor on duty (Matt). His examinations and tests were extensive and carried out with great care and reassurance, keeping me informed along the way. He was reassured and comfortable to refer me to the eye clinic at another hospital to follow up the next morning. There were no tears, but if there had been, their promptness, care and ability to treat quickly would have saved my eyesight.
Each member of staff, from triage to nurses and doctor in the clinic who were expecting me, gave me reassurance as to what would happen and waiting time was absolutely minimal. I could not have wished for better care.
Well done and thank you, RPH.
