"Dental treatment in the NSW Public Hospital System"

About: Oral Health Service (SESLHD)

(as the patient),

I am long-term unemployed, and over the last 3 years or so, I have been having dental treatments at Sutherland public hospital in Sydney. I have had many appointments to repair a legacy of dental issues which will soon be finalised when I am provided with dentures.

While there have been delays between appointments, which is probably unavoidable for non-urgent dental treatment in the public system, the treatment has been personally tailored and first-class, and I am very thankful that such treatment is available free of charge to those who cannot afford it through private dental practices.

Dear soildf55,

Thank you for your feedback, it is greatly appreciated. SESLHD Oral Health Service provides a safety net service that prioritises dental care for those whose needs are most urgent. Thank you for your understanding and patience with accessing non-urgent care; should any of our patients' dental conditions deteriorate whilst waiting for care, we encourage them to re-contact our Central Intake Centre on 1300 134 226.
