"Amazing journey with MGP5"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I had the most amazing journey throughout my pregnancy and birth with MGP. The level of care and guidance I received from the MGP5 team was exceptional and I want to spread the word about how positive my whole experience was.

My midwife Sarah was like a (young) fairy godmother and it was so fantastic to have that continuity of care, especially being my first pregnancy. Sarah always listened to me, gave great advice and I never felt pressured into making a decision I wasn’t comfortable with.

Sarah wasn’t the only star, the other MGP5 midwives that assisted during my birth were also fantastic and I will never forget the important role they all played in the delivery of my baby.

I chose to hire and BYO my own birth pool and the water immersion was such an amazing pain relief. I do feel like this should be a standard option and pools should be provided by the hospital as it was a lot of equipment to BYO and setup/ pack down was quite time-consuming.

But other than this, I was so happy with my experience at KEMH and MGP5 and I would 100% birth here again in the future. A huge thank you to all the staff that took care of me and my baby!

Dear Plumquiche,

Congratulations on the birth of your child and thank you for taking the time to provide us with your lovely feedback. It is heartening to read that you received such a high standard of care and support from the staff who guided you through your pregnancy and birthing journey.

I am pleased to hear your experience was a positive one and that you felt well supported by our Midwifery Group Practice Team 5 (MGP5). Our staff strive to provide our patients and their families with the support to achieve positive outcomes during their pregnancy and birth journey and continuity of care is an important part of that journey. We are incredibly proud of our MGP5 team and the way they work with our patients to achieve positive outcomes. I will be sure to send your appreciative comments to Sarah all the staff involved in your care.

Thank you for your feedback on our birth pool equipment. We appreciate receiving advice such as yours so that we can continually review, improve and grow our service to ensure that patients are receiving the best care that we can provide, including improvements to our resources and facilities. Your feedback will also help us understand the preferences of our patients and their families during their care journey, and will allow for us to support these preferences during the design stages for the new WNHS hospital on the QEII site.

Once again, congratulations on the birth of your new baby. I wish you and your family all the best for the future.

Kind regards,

Jodi Graham
