I would like to thank the absolutely amazing team at CMP for assisting me through the pregnancy and birth of my second and third babies.
I had an emergency caesarean for my first, and with the support of some particular midwives (Sam, Carly) I felt confident enough to make the hard decisions needed to achieve a VBAC second time around.
When everything seemed like it was going wrong, I saw Sam as I was walking around the ward and she never gave up hope, just kept offering helpful suggestions.
They were so supportive and calm and just had a common-sense approach to birth. The third time around was even better with Sam, again, giving me amazing advice, Steph who I saw for appointments and then Carly and Sarah during labour.
Such a healing process after the trauma of my first birth at a different health service, where I saw a different person at every single appointment and felt absolutely no care. I was even told by one of the doctors that my pelvis was too small to give birth naturally and did I want to book a caesarean. After refusing, I went post dates and was induced, when I felt my body just wasn’t ready and I wasn’t given an option of delaying with increased monitoring, which through birthing with the CMP, I now know is possible.
Thank you to the team at CMP - for restoring my confidence in the natural process of birth, helping me make peace with a horrible past experience by actually listening, and for offering an alternative pathway for pregnant women seeking a more caring and supportive environment for birth.
Please never stop funding this amazing program!
