"Maternity care"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

Earlier in my pregnancy I joined the MGP and was forgotten about multiple times when I made appointments for at home. Was fine if I went into the clinic but I could always go into the clinic. Then further along when I request to have something done that I wanted, I felt I was made to feel like I knew nothing. Now past my due date, was told I was getting induced 2 days before to go in, to then be sent home and told to come in the next morning, to get a txt at midnight to say this has been delayed, got a call that morning say it is definitely happening that day to 2hrs later saying it has been cancelled together. (not good for my mental health or my oldest child’s, who has stopped eating due to the stress of mum and baby). Then again that day, got a txt to say to ring and has been delayed again. Surely there is a form I can fill out for mental health. In my opinion, what's the difference from going in to labour naturally and being induced.

Dear bracexf65

Thank you for taking the time to discuss your concerns with me last Friday. I really appreciated the opportunity to speak with you and hear your perspectives and talk about some of the challenging elements of maternity care. I can only apologise again that we were unable to commence your induction on the day of your choice.

As I mentioned when we spoke, I will reiterate to our staff how important it is to be open and clear when we are communicating, so that women and their families are well informed and have a good understanding about the reasons why some decisions are made.

If you have any further comments or concerns that you wish to raise I will always be to discuss them with you, so please feel free to call me on 0418 913 555.

Yours sincerely,

Katrina Jones

Clinical Midwifery Manager
