"Amazing lactation consultants at breastfeeding centre"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Breastfeeding Centre of WA

(as a service user),

My child was born prematurely and I had an oversupply of breastmilk and a little baby. I felt overwhelmed by the conflicting advice I had been given in the nursery regarding breastfeeding, pumping my milk, managing the oversupply and the best plan to follow when we were discharged.

The staff at the breastfeeding centre went above and beyond to support me through the first few weeks at home with my newborn. They provided me with a loan pump, breastfeeding support and a clear plan to ensure that I would succeed in breastfeeding. My baby is thriving and thanks to their advice I was able to protect my milk supply and gradually manage the oversupply I initially had. I cannot thank them enough and I feel very lucky to have had access to such a brilliant service.

We are very proud of our staff in the Breast Feeding Centre and the service they provide. Our staff are committed to this service and this is a true testament of the collaborative approach with baby and mother to achieve such positive results.

I wish you and your family all the best for the future.
