"My baby's birth with MGP5"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as a service user),

Thank God for leading me to midwives at MGP5. With their warm hearts they welcomed me and cared for me holistically. I felt comfortable enough to be myself and share anything that concerned me, and I  received help and beyond that, I didn't feel judged.

The Midwives and Students in their teamwork worked so diligently and would flag any matters of concern and help immediately.

For instance, during my labour and delivery, I was given the best moral and physical support (best support system in conjunction with my 2 friends) as I haven't got my parents/family in the country.

I was well reassured and looked after, which moves me to this second as I write this. My Chief Midwife and others stepped in on that night and worked wholeheartedly, I don't even think they went out on their breaks. My Midwife constantly offered various methods to ease my pain during contractions and even taught my support people how they would massage my back to ease my pain.

To be honest, I would write a journal praising their work and explaining my experience since I was referred there but this space isn't enough.

I am so grateful and may God bless their work.

Dear matargd65,

Congratulations on the birth of your baby and thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. It is heartening to read that you received such a high standard of care and support from the staff who guided you through your pregnancy and birthing journey.

We are extremely proud of the level of commitment our Midwifery Group Practice 5 (MGP5) team bring to their roles and they are always delighted to receive recognition such as yours from patients. The MGP model of care has made a difference in the care we are able to provide to our patients and it is lovely to hear that you were able to get the support you needed.

I wish you all the best for the future.

Regards,

Jodi Graham
